Harmony Bakery is a gluten-free, vegan, soy-free, wheat-free, peanut-free bakery and café in Baltimore, Maryland. Harmony Bakery uses fresh, organic, locally sourced ingredients, which means menus are seasonal. They feature weekly and daily specials, shared daily on Instagram(@harmonybakery), so there is always something different to try. To follow local guidelines and safety restrictions, Harmony has installed a pick-up window and offers the option of placing orders online or in person.
When open, the interior of Harmony Bakery features beautiful display cases full of treats and savory items, with a few seating options and local art for sale on display.
I’ve had the opportunity to try a lot of items from Harmony, so I thought today I would share with you some of my favorites!
Harmony Bakery and Cafe Favorites:
Vegan Spinach Tart
Harmony’s Vegan Spinach Tart (pictured below) is one of those items that always lasts me two meals and is so filling and full of flavor! It’s satisfying without feeling heavy, and it reheats really well too. All of Harmony’s flours are made from scratch, and their tart crusts don’t fall apart like I’ve come to expect from gluten-free pastry.
Samoa Bar
The Samoa Bar is described on Harmony’s website as “shortbread crust dipped in chocolate with an almond butter maple syrup coconut filling drizzled with toasted coconut and chocolate” but I simply describe it as delicious. I’ve never tried anything like Harmony’s Samoa Bar and for that reason, whenever I stop by Harmony and they have them available, I have to get one.
S’mores Bar
I don’t know what their secret is, but when it comes to thick, fudgey chocolate and their homemade ganache, Harmony is doing something right. Their s’mores bar has a graham cracker-like base below a nice layer of rich chocolate, topped with marshmallows and crumbled graham crumbs.
When my good friend Niamh was visiting from England, I had to bring her to Harmony as she was exploring the east coast, and a s’mores bar was her pick for our mid-morning pick me up!
Rocky Road Fudge
This isn’t an item I’ve found often at Harmony, but I always check if it’s available when I make an order. Harmony’s fudge is rich, creamy, and everything I remembered fudge being – which usually isn’t the case when I try a food that I used to love pre-dietary restrictions. I remember the first time I ever visited Harmony, this was one of the treats I picked up, and when I tried it I was overwhelmed by just how good it tasted. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
And that wraps up my review of Harmony Bakery!
I highly recommend trying out the unique menu items Harmony has to offer. They’re my go-to place when I want to try something new, and I can’t wait to see how my favorites list grows!
