Hi friends! How are you?
My holiday season has been an interesting one.
For me, it felt like with the rush of school and finals, there wasn’t much build up to the festivities. I’m glad I got in my gingerbread house making and Christmas music in November, because December was a month of work. I worked hard, stressed more than I wanted too, spent a lot of time studying, and in the end, it all worked out. Actually, it more than worked out! I did better than I expected this semester, which was a huge shock. I had even put off checking my grades until after Christmas because I didn’t want to be down if one of my final exams had gone poorly. My finals were a huge piece of my final grades this semester!
At the end of this semester I had the opportunity to stick around for a bit following finals, and it’s a good thing I did. I ended up realizing there were tons of errands to be run all over campus that took me a couple days to complete! Then I took inventory of both the office and resource room that we have for Resident Assistants in the area where I live. There were so many things I had no idea we even had!

Once home, I only had a couple days before Christmas and my family was really busy. Thank goodness I had the time to stay on campus and go at my own pace to let my body start to recuperate from the semester! Following Christmas I’ve been resting and going at my own slow pace again, and it’s been quite nice to not feel rushed. Lots of sleep, nowhere to be, it’s been great.
I know that feeling won’t last long in to January, so I’m taking advantage of the time I have while I can!
In January, I’m looking forward to a sophomores only retreat event my university has prior to the start of the spring semester and changing up some areas in my room at school! Being away has given me the inspiration I needed. I only hope that I’ll have the time to execute everything when I get back to the residence halls before things start to get busy again!
