Hi Friend! How are you? Are you ready for December?
Me? I’m excited. December is my jam. I am so ready to drive around looking for Christmas lights, sit in front of the fireplace, and stay cozy. But first, I’ve got my last week of classes, finals, all that jazz.
Before I get too ahead of myself though, let’s reflect on November…
November is always rough for me. I don’t know exactly why. It just is. My health and November do not get along; thus struggle ensues. But its November 30 and I’m here! I made it!
After a rocky start to the month with lots of issues cropping up everywhere, I managed to get almost all of my work done and submitted. I am so grateful to have really understanding professors, who know that I am an earnest student and not trying to take advantage of them or my accommodations. Thank goodness for extended deadlines! Now to finish those two final essays before the semester ends…
This month I’ve put a ton of energy into planning and preparations for a program I’m having tonight for my residents. As a Resident Assistant, I hold monthly programs (essentially fun, in-hall events for them to participate), and this month’s program caught the eye of a lot of student mentors who wanted to bring their first year students to the event. This was quite a shock, and to be honest a bit of a hassle as I scrambled in search of additional funding, but in the end my boss (who is absolutely magical) came through and made sure I have everything I need. As a result, by the end of the night there will be a large gingerbread village constructed in my residence hall! I am so excited to see what is created. I’m prepared for a large crowd (I’m sure I will share photos both here and on my Instagram story as the event takes place!), so fingers crossed that we have enough supplies and space!
Due to the health difficulty I experienced in November, I didn’t get to spend as much time working on the blog. This does mean that I won’t meet one of my semester goals, but there’s always next semester!

December 3, 2018 at 8:00 amI have been feeling worse in November too, it must have been in the air or something! Loads of spoonies were struggling.
Ah! I’m not alone! Most people I know and am friends with decline in October, I always thought it was odd that November was harder for me. I hope December is better for you!
