8 Easy Halloween Costumes

October 27, 2016

Imagine this: Halloween is in four days.

Now there are two ways you could have read that. Either you’re thinking to yourself “Yeah I know! I have everything planned and I know exactly what I’m doing!” Or you’re thinking “I only have four days?!?!” If you’re one of the former, good for you! If you’re not, don’t worry. I’ve worked with some friends to think up eight easy costumes you can put together with clothes you already own. And as always, if you’re missing something small, a trip to PartyCity never hurts. Just beware of the small children and frazzled parents last-minute costume hunting, and have in mind what you need before you set foot in the store.

1. A Deer

One of my good friends Ana discovered this one, and did her makeup to suit it. The outfit is simple, a cream-colored shirt and brown or dark pants. Here, the magic is all in the makeup.

2. Porcelain Doll

White makeup, delicate features, and a simple dress with a floral or lace design, and before you know it you have a costume!

3. Pop Art Character

I love love love Roy Lichtenstein and if you love makeup, this one is for you.

4. Cowgirl

Flannel, jeans, and cowboy boots make this costume super simple.  Add braids and a hat for something extra!

5. Barbie

If you have a nice set of pink pajamas, grab a teddy bear and a sleep mask and you’re Pajama Party Barbie!  Or go with a more sophisticated look for Business Woman Barbie.  The possibilities here are endless.  Just don’t forget to add some glittery eye shadow and maybe some pigtails.

6. Gypsy

Maxi skirt, lots of jewelry, patterns, loose flowy shirt! Don’t be afraid to mix metals or layer necklaces.

7. Athlete / Fanatic

If it doesn’t bring back too many bittersweet memories, pull out an old uniform and spend the night as an athlete.  Or, if you happen to have an abundance of gear for your favorite team, put on as much as possible and add a bit of face paint – instant crazed fan.

8. Witch

Odds are that over the years you’ve probably picked up a witches hat, so why not put it to good use? An all-black outfit makes this one especially hassle-free. If you want to add makeup, don’t forget a mole! Carrying around a broom couldn’t hurt the image either.

And there you have it! 8 Easy Halloween Costumes

These are super easy to put together last-minute, simply by shopping your own closet! If you need an item or two, a quick run to PartyCity or an order from Amazon can complete your costume.
